. Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as Cardiovascular Diseases, Cancers, and Diabetes etc. are the largest cause of death in India. When compared to people in the West, Indians are more likely to develop diseases much earlier because of our lifestyle and dietary patterns. However, a health check can help you prevent such diseases through early diagnosis and interventions targeted at your risk factors such as smoking, alcohol, unhealthy diet & obesity, physical inactivity, hypertension, diabetes, high lipids and stress levels.

. Health checks should not be reserved for when you are feeling unwell - they are a great way of ensuring your general health is maintained. Some symptoms such as high blood pressure may not produce any obvious physicalsymptoms, however early detection and treatment can help ensure that your heart remains healthy and that your risk of heart disease or stroke are greatly reduced. It is all about prevention of diseases.

. A physician will first meet you and get a thorough understanding of your current health status, medical history, family history, lifestyle, environment or socioeconomic conditions, occupation etc which will form the basis of your check-up.

. If you are non-diabetic, you have to give only one blood sample for your health check. If you are diabetic, then we'll have to take 2 blood samples. Also, based on your reports, if additional tests have been prescribed, only then will you be required to give an additional blood sample.

. The date when your reports will be handed over to you will be indicated during your health check. You will get the reports either on the same day or within the next day or two depending on the location and the nature of tests/consults required based on your health status.
